Creative
PreproductionHarness.
A local, open-source tool for making creative decisions explicit before asking an AI coding assistant to build.
# Start a guided preproduction session $ npm run cli -- guide --root ./website # Inspect readiness and unresolved decisions $ npm run cli -- status --root ./website $ npm run cli -- validate --root ./website
01 / The problem
Faster implementation still
needs a starting point.
AI coding tools can help move an idea into code quickly. They still need a clear brief, relevant references, a chosen direction, and decisions that survive the next revision. I built Creative Preproduction Harness to make that preparation visible and reusable.
The tool supports a developer forming a provisional direction, a creative lead guiding a team, or someone expanding existing work. Creative judgment stays with people. The harness records the evidence and decisions that support a handoff.
02 / How it works
A creative process
you can inspect.
- 01 / ESTABLISH
Brief and research
Define the audience, desired outcome, references, and constraints before choosing a direction.
- 02 / EXPLORE
Direction and language
Compare creative territories, develop visual language, and retain the rationale behind the choices.
- 03 / DECIDE
Review and handoff
Record feedback and explicit human decisions against exact versions, then check readiness to implement.
- Versioned workKeep briefs, research, compositions, and revisions connected to their history.
- Human decisionsSeparate ordinary feedback, submission, and formal approval by a named reviewer.
- Readiness checksExpose unresolved conditions, asset permissions, and missing reviews before handoff.
- Agent contextRender approved facts, constraints, and open questions as context for Codex or Claude Code.
The adapters generate context text. The tool does not call AI APIs, launch coding agents, publish websites, or judge creative taste.
03 / Project connection
Part of the thinking
behind House of Helix.
The House of Helix work connects website design with the process behind it: establishing references and visual direction, carrying decisions into implementation, and developing a more repeatable creative production workflow.
This public tool represents the preproduction side of that work. A separate production workflow explores how reusable rules, validation, and human review can guide Blender output.
